Şarj Rehberim is an independent directory that helps electric vehicle drivers find charging points. To do this, we do not need to know who you are. This policy explains in plain language which information we use and why, and which information we never collect. The legal details are set out in the KVKK information notice. Last updated: 27 October 2026.
When you choose “Show nearby” or “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission. If you allow it, your location is sent to our server to sort nearby charging points and calculate distances. Your location is not written to a database, does not appear in server logs and is not associated with you. You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser's site settings; the map works fully without your location.
When you plan a route, it is calculated on the routing service running on our own server from the coordinates of the points you select (if it is temporarily unavailable, they are forwarded to the public OSRM routing service). For the air temperature along the way, the start, middle and end coordinates of the route, rounded to about 10 km, are sent to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's (MET Norway) forecast service. When you search for an address, the text you type is forwarded to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. All of this happens through our server; your IP address is not sent to these services. Once the result has been shown to you, the route and search information is not stored.
When you share a route plan or a battery report, the link itself carries what the page needs: for a route, the start and destination points and settings; for a battery report, the car's make and model, the estimated capacity, the number of measurements, the period of the records (by month) and charging-habit summaries. Your car's nickname, plate, individual charging records and location are not included. Only you send the link, to whoever you choose; when opened, the content is drawn from the link without being stored on our server.
If you use the charging assistant, the questions you type and the earlier messages in the same conversation are forwarded through our server to Anthropic PBC's (USA) Claude AI service to generate an answer. The current date and time and, if you have chosen one in My Cars, your active vehicle's make and model, battery and charging details are sent with the question; your vehicle's nickname and plate are not. If you share your location, the coordinates are used only on our server to search for stations and routes and are not forwarded to Anthropic; nor is your IP address. The text of the conversation is not stored on our server; only the number of questions and the amount of processing (without any text) are logged to prevent abuse. Under its commercial terms Anthropic does not use data received through its API to train its models; it may keep it for a limited period for safety purposes. Do not type personal information such as your name, phone number or address. The assistant is an AI; durations and costs are estimates.
The base map is provided by OpenFreeMap. As you move around the map, your browser downloads map images directly from this service; because this is technically necessary, your IP address and the map area you are viewing are transmitted to OpenFreeMap.
When you report an error using the form on a station page, your description is stored together with the station information and the time of submission, and is used only to correct the record. No identifying information is added to the form. The report is kept until the error has been corrected, and for no longer than 1 year. With “Wrong location”, the point you mark on the map is stored as the station's suggested position; if you tap “use my location”, your current position is sent as that point, used for nothing else and not linked to you.
A “Right now” status note (busy, free, broken, worked, not public) contains only the station, the status and the time; who sent it is neither shown nor stored. Notes from the last 3 hours are shown to everyone as counts; “busy” and “worked” notes are kept for 28 days to show the hours when the station is usually busy and the last successful charge. To limit abuse, the IP address is used only in memory for short-term rate limiting. “Broken” and “not public” notes are also stored as error reports. A “Queue” note also contains the number of cars waiting (1, 2 or 3+); it is shown for 30 minutes, including as a number on the station's map pin. Notes and, where available, the networks' live availability are also added to anonymous counters made up only of the station, day, hour and status type, so that stations' busy hours can be shown later; these counters are kept for 90 days and contain no personal data, IP address or device ID.
An access answer (open to the public, usable 24/7, parking fee) contains only the station, the question, yes/no and the time; who sent it is neither shown nor stored. Answers from the last 6 months are shown to everyone as a summary. The IP address is used only in memory for short-term rate limiting.
A charging experience vote (good / bad on “Was your charging experience good?”) is anonymous: it contains only the station, the vote and the time; who sent it is neither shown nor stored. Votes are kept for 30 days; the share of positive votes and the number of votes from the last 30 days are shown to everyone on the station page. The IP address is used only in memory for short-term rate limiting.
Sharing a measured speed is optional: if you tick “Share the measured speed anonymously” on a Charging Log entry with a duration and a station, only the station, that charge’s average power (kW) and its date are sent; car, cost, note and the rest of the log stay on your device. Measurements from the last 6 months are shown on the station page as a median. The box starts unticked on every entry and the choice is not stored.
To improve the website, we would like to measure with Google Analytics which pages are used and how much. This runs only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you consent, Google Analytics writes a cookie containing a random identifier to your browser; the pages you visit, your device and browser type, your approximate location (city level, derived by Google from your IP address) and the page that referred you to the website are transmitted to Google. Your precise location, name or e-mail address are not transmitted; the advertising features of Google Analytics are turned off. The data is kept in Google Analytics for 2 months. You can withdraw your consent at any time under Cookie preferences.
Ads may be shown on the website through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies (e.g. DoubleClick, __gads, __gpi, IDE) to serve and measure ads. Personalised ads are shown only if you allow advertising cookies in the cookie banner or under Cookie preferences; without your consent, advertising cookies are not used and only non-personalised or limited ads are shown. Consent to advertising is separate from consent to analytics.
You can also turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com. How Google uses data from partner sites: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Banners labelled “Sponsored”, on the other hand, are served from our own server and contain no cookies, trackers or ad networks.
Google services (Analytics, AdSense) process data on servers located outside Türkiye. This transfer is based on your explicit consent under Article 9 of the KVKK and is managed through your cookie preferences: no data is transferred to Google for a category you have not consented to. Details: KVKK information notice. The questions you type into the charging assistant are transferred to Anthropic (USA) because you choose to use the assistant (your explicit consent); if you do not use it, nothing is transferred.
The website is delivered through Cloudflare for security and speed; in providing this service, Cloudflare processes your IP address and measures page load speed without using cookies and without associating it with your identity (Cloudflare Web Analytics). In the access logs on our own server, the page path, time, response code and browser information are kept for 14 days; query parameters (location, search text) are not logged. The connection is always encrypted with HTTPS.
Favourites, your cars (including any nickname and plate you enter), your Charging Log entries (receipt images you attach are kept in the browser's IndexedDB), your theme choice, your trips (the ongoing trip and your last 30 finished trips: start and destination names, km, stops and times) and whether you have closed the information banner are kept in your browser's local storage and are not sent to us. So that the app can open offline, a copy of the pages you visit may also be stored in the browser cache. Full list and how to delete it: Cookie policy.
