This notice has been prepared to inform users of Şarj Rehberim (sarjrehberim.com.tr and the iOS/Android app) in accordance with Article 10 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”) and the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles to Be Followed in Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform. Last updated: 20 October 2026.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Berpel Digital Solutions (MERSIS No.: 5950619739400019). Address: Yeşilpınar Mah. Şehit Metin Kaya Sokak Vialand AVM No:11A/25 34065 Eyüpsultan, İstanbul, Türkiye. For applications and questions: info@sarjrehberim.com.tr. Other contact channels are listed on the Contact page.
2. Which personal data does Şarj Rehberim process?
Şarj Rehberim has no sign-up, accounts or payments, sponsored banners do not process personal data, and your name, phone number or e-mail address are not requested. The data processed is limited to actions that you initiate yourself:
- Location data: when you choose “Show nearby” or “Use my location” and your browser grants permission, your device's location is transmitted to our server to sort nearby points and calculate distances. The location is used during this operation only; it is not recorded and is not associated with any person.
- Route and address search: the coordinates of the starting point, intermediate stops and destination you select in the route planner; the text you type in an address search.
- Feedback: the description you submit using the form on a station page, the station concerned, the type of report and the time of submission. No name, e-mail address or IP address is added to the form; please do not include personal information in the description.
- Transaction security logs: the server access logs record the path of the requested page, the time, the response code, browser information (user agent) and the referring page. Query parameters (e.g. location, search text) are not written to these logs.
- Usage statistics (only with your explicit consent): if you give permission in the cookie banner, via Google Analytics: an online identifier (a random ID cookie), the pages visited, device and browser information, the referring page and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Advertising data (only with your explicit consent): if you allow advertising cookies, Google processes online identifiers (e.g. the
__gads, __gpi and IDE cookies), your IP address, device and browser information and the page visited, in order to serve, personalise and measure ads that may be shown on the website through Google AdSense. Without your consent, advertising cookies are not used; only non-personalised or limited ads may be shown. - Network traffic data: access to the website takes place through Cloudflare, which provides security and performance services; in the process, your IP address and request information are processed by Cloudflare.
Favourites, My Cars (vehicle, nickname, plate), Charging Log entries and any receipt images you attach, theme and information banner preferences are stored only on your own device and are not transmitted to us. A file you create with Download Backup is saved only to your device; the names of favourite stations in a backup are looked up on our server by station ID, and no personal data is sent. Details: Cookie policy.
The mobile app does not process usage statistics or advertising data (it has no analytics, advertising or tracking tools); all other data is the same as above. Specific to the app:
- Installation ID: on first launch, the app generates a random installation ID and attaches it to the requests it sends to our server; its purpose is to limit excessive requests per device rather than per shared IP address on mobile operator networks. The ID is not associated with any person and is held on the server only in a short-lived counter; deleting the app deletes the ID.
- New charging point notifications (optional, currently Android only): when you turn on “Notify me of new points” for a province, your device's notification token is forwarded through our server to Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so that it can be subscribed to that province's notification topic. Our server does not store the token or which person follows which province; the subscription is held by Google. The provinces you follow stay only on your device. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your phone's settings; no advertising or promotional notifications are sent.
- Favourite price notifications (optional, currently Android only): when you turn them on, the notification token is subscribed in the same way to the price topics of your favourite stations. Our server does not store the token or who follows which station; favourites stay only on your device.
3. Purposes of processing
- To show charging points on the map, sort them by location and calculate distances,
- to create the route and charging stop plan you request, and to complete address searches,
- to review and correct reported inaccurate station information,
- if you give permission, to improve the service by measuring how the website is used,
- if you give permission, to show personalised ads and measure ads through Google AdSense,
- to ensure the security of the website and to detect and prevent misuse (excessive requests, attacks),
- to fulfil legal obligations and to use as evidence in possible disputes.
4. Legal grounds and method of collection
Data is collected electronically by automated means while you use the website, or through the forms you fill in. Processing is based on the following legal grounds:
- Location data: the explicit consent you give through your browser's location permission (KVKK Art. 5(1)). You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser settings; the website also works without location.
- Usage statistics (Google Analytics): your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5(1)). You can withdraw your consent at any time under Cookie preferences; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5(1)); it is given separately from consent to analytics and is withdrawn in the same place.
- Transfer abroad (Google): your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 9); details in section 5.
- New charging point notifications: the explicit consent you give by turning on the feature and through your phone's notification permission (KVKK Art. 5(1), and Art. 9 for the transfer abroad); you can withdraw it at any time by turning the feature off.
- Installation ID: the legitimate interest of the data controller — preventing misuse of the service (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)).
- Route, address search and feedback: processing being necessary to provide the service you request (KVKK Art. 5(2)(c)) and the legitimate interest of the data controller (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)).
- Security logs and network traffic: the legitimate interest of the data controller (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)) and the establishment, exercise or protection of a right (KVKK Art. 5(2)(e)).
5. To whom is data transferred, and for what purpose?
Your personal data is not sold and is not shared with anyone for marketing purposes; it is shared with Google for advertising purposes only if you give explicit consent to advertising cookies. For the service to work, the following service providers are involved, limited strictly to the data and purposes stated:
- Hosting (in Türkiye): the website is hosted on servers located in Türkiye.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): content delivery, DDoS protection and security — IP address and request information.
- OpenFreeMap: map images are downloaded by your browser directly from this service; in the process, your IP address and the map area being viewed are transmitted to the service.
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC (USA): only if you have given explicit consent, and only for the categories you have allowed — usage statistics (Google Analytics); serving, personalising and measuring ads (Google AdSense). You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com; how Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. In addition, in the mobile app and only if you turn on new charging point or price notifications: Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — the notification token and the subscribed province or station price topic (to deliver the notification).
- OSRM (FOSSGIS e.V., Germany): route calculation — only the coordinates of the route points, through our server; your IP address is not transmitted.
- Nominatim (OpenStreetMap Foundation): address search — only the search text or coordinates, through our server; your IP address is not transmitted.
- Anthropic PBC (USA): only if you use the charging assistant — the questions you type, earlier messages in the same conversation, the date and time and, if chosen, your active vehicle's model and battery details, to generate an answer; through our server, without your IP address or location. This transfer abroad is based on the explicit consent you give by choosing to use the assistant.
Some of these providers have servers located abroad. Transfers abroad are carried out within the framework of the conditions laid down in Article 9 of the KVKK and are limited to the data necessary to provide the service. Google services (Analytics, AdSense) process data on servers located abroad; this transfer is based on your explicit consent and is managed through your cookie preferences: no data is transferred to Google for a category you have not consented to, and you can withdraw your consent at any time under Cookie preferences. Data may be transferred to public institutions and organisations authorised by law, upon request and to the extent provided for by legislation.
6. Retention periods
- Location data: not recorded; deleted from memory once the operation is complete.
- Route and address search: not recorded; not kept after the result has been generated.
- Server access logs: 14 days, then deleted automatically.
- Usage statistics: 2 months in Google Analytics; analytics cookies in your browser for up to 2 years or until you withdraw your consent.
- Advertising cookies: the period specified by the provider (e.g.
__gads, __gpi, IDE up to 13 months) or until you withdraw your consent. - Feedback: until the reported error has been reviewed and corrected, for no longer than 1 year; then deleted or anonymised.
- Preferences on your device: remain only on your device until you delete them.
7. Your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK
By applying to the data controller, you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is being processed and, if so, request information about it,
- learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose,
- know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom the data is transferred,
- request correction if the data has been processed incompletely or inaccurately,

- request that the correction and deletion operations be notified to the third parties to whom the data has been transferred,
- object to a result to your detriment arising from the analysis of the data exclusively by automated systems,
- claim compensation for damage if you suffer damage as a result of unlawful processing.
